Pamela Anderson, star of the upcoming Blonde and Blonder with Denise Richards and directed by her brother, made no new fans at Cannes this year, getting booed by paparazzi after showing up late for a photo session and only posing for a few shots. Cannes is an unusual event because there are so many international
photographers there that they schedule sessions with the paparazzi and Pamela Anderson didn’t take her allotted time too seriously, showing up late and barely taking any time to pose. The Baywatch star had also already complained about how crazy everything was at Cannes, calling it a frenzy, and when Pam didn’t stay long enough for enough shots, the photographers assembled let her have it.
Pamela Anderson said to AP Television News that Cannes was quite glamorous, but noted,
“Even watching it on television this morning, seeing these people, it’s like the actors are prodded through like cattle, ‘turn this way, turn that way’”
Up until recently, Pamela Anderson had said that she wouldn’t attend Cannes, but changed her mind and decided to make the trip to promote Blonde and Blonder, which is screening on the sidelines of the official lineup, in more of a publicity context than a competition. Anderson said to the AP, “My kids come first even in my schedule. When I schedule anything that I do, it’s around their baseball games or their soccer matches or their…everything.”
Pamela Anderson wrote on her personal website on Monday, “Now I am off to Cannes to support my brother’s movie Blonde And Blonder. Just for one day.”
Blonde and Blonder stars Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards in what the AP calls “Dumb and Dumber meets Legally Blonde.” The film also stars Emmanuelle Vaugier, who also appeared at Cannes and was, apparently, not booed by photographers. No official release date has been announced for Blonde and Blonder starring Pamela Anderson, Denise Richards, and Emmanuelle Vaugier. It’s the only credit in any state of production for Pamela Anderson, according to the IMDB.
